Business Simulation Labs

Think like a company. Act like professionals. Learn by doing.

Business simulation labs offer students an immersive learning context that faithfully reproduces the organization and dynamics of a real company. Through an experiential and interdisciplinary methodology, the simulation activity makes it possible to combine theory and practice, fostering responsibility, autonomy, entrepreneurial spirit and digital skills.

These labs are designed for technical and vocational schools, with particular reference to economic, tourism, commercial and administrative tracks, and are also ideal for inclusion in work-based learning paths, school projects and curricular activities of the final years.

Learning objectives

  • Foster the acquisition of entrepreneurial, managerial and relational skills.
  • Integrate theoretical knowledge of business economics, law, marketing, IT and foreign languages with operational activities.
  • Promote teamwork, planning, problem solving and effective communication.
  • Develop digital and technical skills through the use of professional software and realistic organizational models.
  • Stimulate the interdisciplinary approach and the building of an aware entrepreneurial mindset.

Examples of skills developed

  • Setting up and launching the simulated company, in compliance with civil and tax regulations.
  • Drafting the business plan and defining the company mission.
  • Accounting and tax management: issuing accounting documents, schedules, simulated financial statements.
  • Work organization by departments: administration, treasury, secretariat, personnel, purchasing, sales, marketing.
  • International relations: simulations of foreign trade and customs procedures.
  • Simulation of corporate communication: creating brand identity, product catalogues, business letters, promotional campaigns.

Examples of practical exercises

  • Simulating the founding of the company: articles of incorporation, opening a simulated bank account, relations with bodies and banks.
  • Designing a communication plan with brand, website, multimedia promotional materials.
  • General accounting and management control exercises.
  • Simulated human-resources management: contracts, payslips, social-security and insurance obligations.
  • Simulation of commercial exchanges with companies in the national or international network (Simulimpresa, IFS).
  • Participation in “virtual fairs” and real-time interactions with simulated Italian or foreign companies.

Technical equipment (examples)

  • Computer workstations with office suite, ERP, CRM and management software.
  • Multifunction printers, scanners and back-office tools.
  • LAN networks, access points and high-speed connections.
  • Interactive screens, videoconferencing tools and software for internal communication.
  • Materials for document simulations and databases of simulated companies.
  • Access to networks such as Simulimpresa (Europen-Pen International) and the IFS Network.

Curricular integration

The lab integrates fully with the school tracks:

  • Administration, Finance and Marketing
  • Corporate Information Systems
  • Tourism
  • Commercial Services
  • Vocational tracks for Food & Beverage and Hospitality

and it is valuable in work-based learning, multidisciplinary projects and modular learning units.

Activities are designed according to the principles of Universal Design for Learning (UDL). Adapted workstations, assistive technologies and customizable multimedia materials are provided to ensure equal opportunities for all students, including those with motor, sensory or learning disabilities.

Technical support and teacher training

  • Support for shared design with the Teachers' Board
  • Installation and configuration of the lab
  • Methodological and technical training for teachers
  • Access to digital materials, video courses, guidelines and operating templates
  • Consultancy for curricular alignment and the creation of the simulated business plan
