Fuse skills. Weld the future. Innovate safely.
The Technological Welding Lab with augmented reality is a cutting-edge learning environment designed for hands-on, immersive training in welding. Based on Seabery AR technologies, this lab lets students learn the main welding techniques in a safe, sustainable and personalized way, simulating complex industrial scenarios.
Designed for technical and vocational schools with mechanical, electrical, maintenance and technical-assistance specializations, the lab integrates seamlessly into work-based learning, professional-certification activities and career-guidance projects.
Learning objectives
- Acquire hands-on skills in the main welding processes: MIG/MAG, MMA (stick) and TIG.
- Develop advanced skills on complex joints and diverse industrial materials.
- Learn to configure specific parameters (material, thickness, angle) based on real scenarios.
- Use augmented reality to learn in a controlled, safe and consumable-free environment.
- Support career entry with preparation for skills certification.
Skills developed
- Simulated welding on plate-plate, pipe-plate and pipe-pipe joints.
- Customizing exercises according to individual or group difficulty.
- Optimizing torch movements, posture and angles.
- Interpreting real-time feedback and correcting errors.
- Managing documentation and assessments through integrated software.
Hands-on exercises (examples)
- Welding simulations in complex environments (Heavy Industry, V-Butt joints, T-Angled).
- Assessment of precision parameters: speed, distance, angle and stability.
- Progressive pathways from beginner to advanced, with targeted exercises on steel and aluminum.
- Analysis and comparison of real versus ideal results through a performance score.
- Training on ambidextrous or hard-to-reach welding scenarios.
Technical equipment (examples)
- Welding mask with augmented-reality visor.
- Simulated torches for MIG/MAG, MMA and TIG processes.
- Tower station with screen and “Advanced” teaching software.
- Set of simulated industrial joints (plates, pipes, complex angles).
- Training-management platform with user profiles, statistics and progress tracking.
- Touch interfaces, teacher control, exam mode and automatic reporting.
Curricular integration
The lab integrates with the following pathways:
- Vocational institutes – Technical Maintenance and Assistance, Mechanics, Energy specialization.
- Technical institutes – Mechanics, Mechatronics, Energy, Electronics and Electrical Engineering specialization.
- Work-based learning pathways and professional certifications (e.g. certified welder).
- STEM projects, ITS courses and post-diploma specializations in the industrial and manufacturing field.
Accessibility and inclusion
The Technological Welding Lab is designed according to Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles. Workstations are ergonomic, height-adjustable, free of physical risks and fully accessible to students with motor, sensory or learning disabilities. Augmented reality makes it possible to:
- Adapt exercises according to cognitive and manual abilities.
- Use visual and auditory compensatory tools (audio feedback, color-coded scores, high-readability interfaces).
- Offer video tutorials, simplified digital aids and exercises with increasing difficulty.
- Work in cooperative or individual mode with automated support.
With Kyron labs for augmented-reality welding, the school becomes a true workshop of the industry of the future, where a generation of technicians is trained, ready to build with precision, competence and vision.
